Detectors

Mounting detectors is always a dilemma to provide
functionality, convenience and not upset the interior.

Very hard to achieve but convenience took priority.

The 2 access points I chose were the cable run for the factory Sat/Nav,
the drivers side dash vent and the drivers side dash corner where
a cable can be neatly tucked and wired to the fuse box.

Geodesy and Bell 550

The Geodesy basically offers location warning on fixed cameras and Specs locations.
What it cant do is tell you if the camera is on so a Radar detector can give you some warning of radar emissions
however as good as the Bel is, it may be in a situation where it cant give you a long distance warning and you
have to take a risk on whether you keep up your speed and risk the late warning or carry on through.

Laser detection is nice to have but you are relying on some diffused radar off another car to detect its presence and it is more likely a
detection occurs when you have been hit, so may be too late. Having said this , my only experience of a laser warning was from a diffused signal
I slowed just before rounding a curve with a police trap waiting. Saved me that day!

Warning:- These are only aids and ultimately everyone around you doesn't have them or cant use them properly.
A lot of drivers will slow in a panic if they've seen a camera too late. Don't be tailgating them because you know the camera is off.!

None of these systems can detect VASCAR which is a "Human/mechanical/stopwatch" system.
and Specs/Digital cameras do not emit Radar so can only be accurate to a database on a GPS based detector
